Summer Camps

Making Sense of the Fraser: July 2-5 & August 6-9

Like most animals, humans have five senses. However, some creatures make use of one sense over the rest to perceive things better and to give themselves an advantage in the wild. Experience the reality of different animals of the river basin and further appreciate your own senses!

PLEASE NOTE: Because of Canada Day and BC Day, Making Sense of the Fraser will run for 4 days from July 2-5 and August 6-9: $216 for members, $240 for non-members. Additional discounts still apply.

Fraser Foes and How to Fight Them: July 8-12 & July 29-August 2

The Fraser River basin, while full of resources, is also filled with danger. Campers will expand their knowledge of the river basin and learn how to survive just as Indigenous peoples did and still do today. We’ll learn about the uses of plants, how to make clothes, build shelters, and find your way around. This is about thriving, not just surviving!

The Tribu-Tales: July 15-19 & August 12-16

Several smaller rivers, called tributaries, flow into the main body of the Fraser River. Each of these rivers has a story as well as Indigenous communities who have lived alongside it since time immemorial. Join us as we dive into these stories and explore the parts that make the Fraser River whole!

The Boomin’ Basin: July 22-26 and August 19 -23

The Fraser River basin is home to mammals like raccoons, deer, bears, birds like eagles, hawks, and waterfowl, as well as fungi, insects, plants, and reptiles. See how all these forces naturally intertwine to make the Fraser River Basin the premier ecosystem recognized globally for its importance!
