LOVE IS IN THE AIR!

Love isn’t just for humans—animals have different ways of expressing affection and building bonds! From tender displays to fascinating courtship rituals, the animal kingdom offers countless examples of how love and care are shared. Join us to explore the heartwarming and sometimes quirky ways animals show their love and strengthen their connections, proving that love truly is in the air—no matter the species!

WHAT: 

Facilitated activities:  

  • 10am – 12pm: Wildlife Dating Show– It’s time for the ultimate first-ever wildlife matchmaking challenge! Join us as we help animals find their perfect mate through a series of fun and fascinating challenges. Learn some of the most bizarre courtship displays as you go. Will they find their match? Don’t miss the wild romance as it unfolds! 
  • 1pm – 3pm: Storytime – Read along to Animal Snuggles: Affection in the Animal Kingdom by Aimee Reid followed by a craft.  

Self-guided activities: 

  • Listen to some sounds and test your skills by identifying the mating calls of different animals. 
  • Write a love letter and send your affection to your favorite human or animal species. 
  • Play Dots & Boxes to learn how sea otters stay with each other. 

WHEN: February 15th – 17th, 10:00am – 4:00pm 

WHERE: Fraser River Discovery Centre, 788 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, BC 

COST: FREE ADMISSION on February 17th.   

REGULAR ADMISSION on February 15th and 16th. 

Includes admission to the Discovery Centre. Specific costs are listed below:  

  • Family Ticket ($20.00) – for 2 adults and up to 4 children      
  • Adult Ticket ($8.00) – adult 19 and older      
  • Senior Ticket ($6.00) – senior 65 and older      
  • Student Ticket ($6.00) – student ID required      
  • Child ticket ($5.00) – children aged 3-12      
  • Children 2 and under register for free 

Caretakers are asked to remain with their children for the duration of their visit.
