Protecting our Fraser Homes

Plants and animals belong to ecosystems—helping maintain balance and supporting healthy habitats. When invasive species spread into new environments, they can disrupt food webs, compete with native species, and alter rivers and landscapes.

Join us to explore how invasive species affect ecosystems in the Fraser Basin, how healthy waterways can be restored, and what we can do to help protect local habitats.

WHAT:

  • Enjoy an interactive puppet show exploring invasive species and their impacts on local ecosystems.
  • Explore how streams can be restored and learn how healthy waterways support native species.
  • Play a cornhole matching game to discover where different invasive species originate and how they spread.
  • Learn about invasive species found along the Fraser River.

WHEN:  August 29th – 30th, September 5th-7th, 10:00am – 4:00pm

Facilitated programs:

  • Stream restoration: 10:00am – 12:00pm
  • Puppet show: 1:00pm – 3:00pm
