Do you have a passion for the Fraser River?

The Fraser River Discovery Centre Society is seeking candidates for potential election to our Board of Directors.

The Fraser River Discovery Centre was conceived in 1986 and has grown into a 17,000 square foot building on the New Westminster waterfront that hosts exhibits, programming and events all focused on the “three pillars” of Fraser River sustainability. The Society has also recently adopted an Indigenous Policy that has led to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Musqueam Indian Band and a proposal to develop a Place of Learning about the Indigenous Heritage and Teaching of the Fraser River.

The Society is governed by a Board of Directors. It currently has eight members, but our ambitious work plan and the need to ensure proper Board succession mean we want to expand to ten at the next Annual General Meeting in June 2021.

We are therefore seeking potential candidates or recommendations of potential candidates from all regions of the Fraser River Basin.
