River Rescuers Summer Camp
Join us at the Fraser River Discovery Centre for half-day camps in partnership with Stream of Dreams! With an emphasis on making friends and learning about the Fraser River, kids are sure to enjoy our nature-themed half-day camps. Each day has a different theme, but register for all 4 days to become a certified River Rescuer*!
HALF-DAY CAMPS RUN FROM JULY 18 to 21
- 10:00 am - 12:30 pm for ages 5 to 8
- 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm for ages 9 to 12

JUL 18: FISHY BUSINESSGet up to something fishy with the FRDC’s Sturgeon George! Discover how these living dinosaurs survive in the Fraser River. Paint a wooden fish for a Stream of Dreams mural and play a game to learn how even flowers and bees are important for a river!
Take-home craft: growing necklace, wildflower seed ‘bombs’, nature field cards.
JUL 19: RIVER ART AND FEATHERED FRIENDSGet moving and get inspired! Create a River of Art and learn about your connections to nature with some fun games and activities. Play habitat musical chairs and learn to speak ‘bird’!
Take-home craft: build and paint a wooden chickadee bird house!
JUL 20: HUNTERS AND BUILDERSInvestigate history, and uncover the secrets of the past through archaeological discovery! Learn the roles bees play in healthy river systems with a pollinator party and bee vision!
Take home craft: build and paint a wooden mason bee box.
JUL 21: SALMON SAVERSLearn how the environment works together to keep our world moving! Discover the importance of keeping our river clean and how you can help. Plus, go on a bug hunt and perform a scientific experiment!
Take home craft: Salmonberry plant and pot, insect field card.
- Cost is $100.00 (plus applicable fees) per child for 4 days (Jul 18-21)*
- or $30/day per child (plus applicable fees)
- Don't forget to bring your water bottle and snack
- Registration closes one week prior to the camp start date
*You will receive an FRDC certificate after completing all 4 half-day camps.
